Panayiotis Andreou's work attempts to discover a new way of communicating with animals, using materials and objects found in their environment. A familiar landscape is created and at the same time it becomes hostile. The first sentence of Hay-man, don't be mean, 2023, refers to the name of scarecrows in Great Britain and becomes a play on words with the phrase Hey-man.

The gold mylar are set in motion and reflect light, "Such materials are also commonly used in agricultural fields […] to reduce damage caused by birds." (Gilsdorf et al., 2003, Kandil and Mobarak, 2017).
