The contrast of the composition, 2021, calls upon and requires the viewer’s ability to decode each of its meanings.
Viewers are asked to overcome any obstacles they find in the way, so they can understand the artwork’s materiality. A soil texture, comprised of multiple mineral particles. A composition, made out of monotypes and combined with the collography technique, achieving a realistic texture as well as the imprint of different organic substances on paper. This combination creates a mysterious sensation through its appearance with different color tones of black, contrasting against light and engravings.

Moreover, this installation also consists of an audible sculpture which communicates with its posterior part, the collography. Undoubtedly, the most important part while printing these monotypes were the metallic cylinders of the engraving press. A tool which was directed from two metallic tubes giving the impression of a dialogue. Those metallic tubes, are the ones further embracing and defining the material’s weight. At the same time, another conceptual dialogue takes over. The one between the adjacent presses and the metallic wire, under the assistance of an electric motor. The constant wire motion leaves its imprint on sandy soil, carving it in such a way so it cages between the industrial materials. In the first instance, soil, the same material used for the monotypes, stands still. Like a handful of soil at a starting point. But following the wire’s motion, it gains momentum and ends up far away from the audible sculpture.

Eventually, the viewer is encouraged to recognize all the different images that are created by his rotation around the artwork, which was a necessity in the first place. This way, each viewer has the potential to be part of this «choreography». According to the theorem of haptic vision, the connection with the material’s monotypes will create the optical sensory input.
